The pbxnsip Paging and Music on Hold application brings a new light to paging and music on hold for Windows users.
The Paging application is very powerfull and can make paging to different offices, building and countries possible! (yes - countries! - just like a hosted PBX)
The pbxnsip Paging and Music on Hold application can be deployed at a remote site (even with no pbxnsip installation) and you can page directly to it from your pbxnsip installation. Once configured to allow ports to be opened, you can now Page from your office PBX to a any other building or place, as long as it has the pbxnsip Paging Application running, ports are opened and configured.
How does it work?
Paging Install -
1. Install the application on any Windows machine
2. Open any required firewall ports to get to application (Default Port is 5000 on the PC you are paging to)
3. Create a Multicast Paging Account on pbxnsip.
4. Configure the Destination field within the paging account with the IP address and Port number of the pbxnsip Paging Application.
5. Allow extensions to use the paging account
6. Pick up you phone and page to the destination.
Example Usage
A school currently has paging speakers in each and every classroom.
Most schools have a PC installed and running in every classroom. Install the pbxnsip Application on each PC. Configure a Multi Cast IP Address. Configure pbxnsip to page to the multicast ip address, all classrooms will play the broadcasted message.
